Guided tours, tastings, virtual tours, e-bike and horseback tours to discover up close the places where one of the noble international vines, Pinot Noir, is born.

In Codevilla, in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese, Cantina La Genisia invites wine enthusiasts to live a unique and immersive experience in the world of Pinot Noir and Metodo Classico. With the arrival of summer, the exclusive Wine Experiences offered by La Genisia become the perfect opportunity to explore not only the secrets of wine production, but also the territory that enhances its qualities.

Summer with La Genisia, between e-bikes, swimming pool and tastings

In the meantime, here are some activities designed for the summer. Every Sunday in July and the first Sunday in August (Sunday, August 3), the “Summer with La Genisia” experience begins in the cellar at 10 am with the delivery of e-bikes for a panoramic tour of about 30 km through the vineyards, which leads to the Salice Terme Golf Club. Here you can enjoy a light lunch, followed by a refreshing dip in the pool until 4:30 pm, and then return to the company just in time for guided tours of the Torre Vinaria and the cellar, with a final tasting of Brut Metodo Classico, Riesling and Pinot Nero La Genisia, accompanied by a platter of local cured meats and cheeses.

In addition, every Thursday in July (10, 17 and 24) from 6 to 11 pm, the panoramic terrace of the winery opens its doors for evenings dedicated to Pinot Noir DOCG and refined local snacks, a convivial occasion to taste classy wines immersed in the cool of the sunset. The tastings are a true invitation to discover the charm of the territory and the quality of La Genisia wines, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Guided tour of the cellar, virtual reality and tasting

The tour begins with a guided tour of the historic cellar and the imposing Torre Vinaria, a symbol of the ancient winemaking tradition of Oltrepò Pavese. Here, visitors can discover every phase of the sparkling winemaking process, from the refinement to the maturation of the wines.

Once you reach the top of the Tower, the experience is enriched thanks to the immersive technology of virtual reality. With the innovative VR Wine La Genisia platform, guests can literally walk among the rows of vineyards in a three-dimensional environment, exploring the hills of Oltrepò as if they were really there. It is a virtual journey that breaks down physical barriers, allowing you to experience the authentic atmosphere of the vineyard and the care reserved for each bunch of grapes.

The tour culminates in a welcoming panoramic room, where visitors can taste the best wines of La Genisia. Among the excellent wines offered, the Pinot Nero DOCG and the Extra Brut Metodo Classico stand out, the flagship of the winery, the result of careful and respectful winemaking of the territory.

E-bike tour among the vineyards

For those who want to combine their passion for wine with their passion for sports, La Genisia also offers e-bike tours. Along the paths of the vineyard hills, guests can pedal between the rows, breathe in the fresh air of the Oltrepò Pavese and admire breathtaking views. The experience includes a stop in the cellar for a tasting of the fine wines, an authentic expression of the terroir.

Family Pack: an experience for the whole family

La Genisia does not forget the little ones, offering a special welcome with the Family Pack . During the experience, children can participate in interactive games to discover the senses of taste and smell, while parents dedicate themselves to tasting two selected wines. For the little ones, fresh fruit juices and a drawing kit are provided to stimulate their creativity.

Outdoor Activities: Trekking, Horseback Riding and Green Way

The strategic position of La Genisia, located at the entrance to the Green Way , also allows you to experience exciting outdoor excursions. In addition to e-bike tours, horseback riding trips through the vineyards and trekking routes along the paths of the Oltrepò Pavese are periodically organized, giving guests direct and authentic contact with nature.

Hospitality Area: Personalized events and tastings

A point of reference born from the desire to have a space open to the public, a place where you can taste La Genisia wines combined with the authentic flavours of Oltrepò Pavese and activities dedicated to family, groups of friends and all those who wish to discover this territory: the new La Genisia space aims to create a space totally dedicated to the discovery of the excellent wines produced and the discovery of the flavours of Oltrepò Pavese.

An open space where events are organized such as guided tastings, cellar visits, experiences that combine food with wine, enhancing both typical and non-typical products of the territory. All with a 360-degree view of the Po Valley, the hills covered with vineyards and the Alpine arc up to Monte Rosa.

TOMMASI FAMILY ESTATES: A JOURNEY INTO WINE BETWEEN VALPOLICELLA, MONTALCINO AND BASILICATA

From Villa Quaranta to Basilicata, three destinations designed by Tommasi to experience the culture of wine between Valpolicella and Montalcino.

A story that starts from the land and arrives at the welcome, where every detail speaks of wine, territory and the art of living. This is the vision of Tommasi Family Estates , a historic Veronese wine family with a consolidated presence in the main Italian denominations, which has made wine tourism a central element of its cultural commitment.

At Villa Quaranta Tommasi Wine Hotel & SPA , a historic seventeenth-century residence immersed in the vineyards of Valpolicella Classica, summer comes to life with events, tastings and moments dedicated to wellness. The first appointment is the Salotto Divino – Summer Edition , scheduled for July 4, 2025 : an outdoor evening in an exclusive location by the pool during which the great Tommasi wines, and not only, are paired with the cuisine of the Borgo Antico Restaurant in a relaxed and refined atmosphere, enriched by live music.

Summer continues with the Aperi‑Wine360 series of events, designed to offer an informal tasting moment between the Corticella and the Bottega del Gusto. Each meeting offers two glasses selected by Tommasi sommeliers, among which Amarone and Valpolicella Classico Superiore naturally stand out, accompanied by three tastings studied ad hoc.

The calendar concludes with the Dinner under the Stars , scheduled for August 8, 2025 : a seated dinner in the suggestive historic Corticella, under the summer sky of Valpolicella.

Those who wish to extend their stay can count on the integrated offer of wellness and hospitality: 76 elegant rooms, a thermal SPA with wine therapy courses, the gourmet restaurant inside the manor house and numerous proposals for themed weekends.

Just a few minutes from Villa Quaranta, the Tommasi winery in Pedemonte is also open to enthusiasts with guided tours and tastings. Here you can discover the secrets of the winemaking of Amarone and other wines of the Valpolicella Classica, exploring the historic barrel cellar and the architecture of the new underground barrel cellar, a virtuous example of sustainability and elegance. An authentic experience in the productive heart of the Tommasi family.

During the summer, Tommasi will also be a protagonist outside its own spaces: the family will participate in the 67 Colonne per l’Arena project, in support of the Fondazione Arena di Verona, and will be present at “Vinitaly – The Opera Ouverture 2025” , in the Gran Guardia in Verona from 4 July to 30 August, with a selection of its labels.

In Casisano , in the south-eastern quadrant of Montalcino , hospitality becomes intimate and contemplative. The estate, overlooking the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, offers guided tours of the vineyards and panoramic tastings of Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino, including vertical tastings. It is possible to stay overnight in the structure to live an immersive experience in the heart of the most authentic Tuscany.

Tommasi’s wine tourism also arrives in Basilicata , with Paternoster , a historic winery in Vulture and a point of reference for Aglianico. Here, in the heart of Barile, you can discover the authentic face of a volcanic territory through visits to the winery, walks through the vineyards and tastings that include the award-winning   Don Anselmo. An opportunity to explore one of the most fascinating denominations of Southern Italy , still genuine and full of potential.

Tommasi with Villa Quaranta, Casisano and Paternoster represent three complementary ways of experiencing wine: the dynamism and culture of hospitality in Valpolicella, the balance of the Tuscan landscape, the ancestral energy of Vulture. In all cases, wine tourism according to Tommasi is a journey of discovery and valorization, where hospitality, sustainability and authenticity intertwine in a coherent and timeless narrative.

STINGING HEAT: SANDRO BOTTEGA LAUNCHES GUIDE TO RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION OF PROSECCO

“It should be drunk at 4°C in glasses kept in the fridge, never before 5pm and not after midnight, no more than 3 glasses a day.”

Despite the scorching heat that is hitting Italy, with red-mark temperatures forecast for the whole week in much of our Peninsula, but also the rest of Europe, with an anomalous heat that has also hit the Wimbledon tournament, as well as the United States, where for example there have been long cooling suspensions during some matches of the Club World Cup underway, it is not necessarily necessary to give up the pleasures of life such as a nice aperitif accompanied by a good glass of wine, perhaps Prosecco. “Of course you can drink Prosecco even on these hot days, you just need to take a few precautions”: Sandro Bottega, a wine entrepreneur at the head of the historic Venetian wine company Bottega SpA in Bibano di Godega (TV), a leader in the production of Prosecco that exports to 165 countries on all 5 continents and has opened around forty Prosecco Bars around the world, has decided to draw up a decalogue to best consume the world-famous Italian bubbles. “First of all – says Bottega – you need to put the bottle in the refrigerator at least 10-12 hours before drinking, for example in the morning for the evening; when serving, the temperature of the wine should be 4°C to enjoy it at its best; it is advisable to keep the glasses constantly in the refrigerator and, if this is not possible, rinse them repeatedly with ice or cold water before pouring the Prosecco; accompany Prosecco with fresh seasonal fruit such as peaches, apricots and strawberries; the time at which you consume it is also important: do not drink it before 5 pm and not after midnight; do not exceed three glasses a day. Then three suggestions for fresh and summery pairings: drink Prosecco mixed with peach smoothie (possibly white pulp), it is the thirst-quenching Bellini; drink it mixed with strawberry smoothie, it is the tasty Rossini; choose pairings with fish, vegetables and light foods. Finally, the tenth and final point of the decalogue is valid for all seasons, it never goes out of style: drink Prosecco in company, in the name of conviviality and well-being together, a concept that also helps us to better bear the heat of these days”, concludes Sandro Bottega, owner of Bottega SpA .
