Gustus 2026: Two WineLabs on the evolution of wine through climate, time, and contemporary taste.

On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September at the Conservatory of Vicenza, the event brings together more than 20 producers with over 100 labels and explores new wine challenges and trends.

At Gustus – Wines and Flavors of Vicenza , scheduled for Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th at the “Arrigo Pedrollo” Conservatory of Music in Vicenza, the Colli Berici, Vicenza, and Gambellara DOCs will offer a glimpse into the evolution of wine from two perspectives: on the one hand, adaptation to climate change and changing consumer tastes; on the other, the role of time in enhancing its character and complexity.

The event, organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Colli Berici e Vicenza and the Consorzio Tutela Vini Gambellara, will host a walk-around tasting with a selection of over 100 labels presented by more than 20 wineries – open on Saturday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Sunday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm – and two WineLabs , in-depth sessions designed to provide a first-hand look at the characteristics and potential of the most representative wines of the denominations.

The first, scheduled for Saturday, September 19th at 6:00 PM , will be “Tai Rosso: Climate Trends and Challenges: A Calling for Change ,” presenting the iconic grape variety of the Berici Hills with one of the most pressing issues in the wine industry: how production styles evolve when the climate and tastes change. Leading the blind tasting will be Cristian Maitan , Best Sommelier of Veneto 2018 and Best Sommelier of Italy 2023.

Sunday 20 September at 4:30 pm will be the turn of Il tempo del Gambellara: a journey through character and longevity , a journey through different vintages in which wine educator Fabio Gobbi will lead the public to discover the potential of Gambellara, often associated with immediate freshness and here instead described in its ability to evolve over time.

Alongside the wine, the culinary offerings are inspired by local delicacies and are curated by I Giovani Leoni on Saturday and Benny’s – Dal forno alla cucina on Sunday. The event is supported by the following food partners: Consorzio Tutela Formaggio Asiago, Consorzio Formaggio Monte Veronese, Salumificio dei Castelli, GustoTop, and, for the wine section, the sommeliers of Fisar Vicenza. Participating companies include: Cavazza, Cave Rosse, Cielo e Terra, Collis, Corte De Pieri, Corte Moschina, Dal Maso, Del Rèbene, Giannitessari, Inama, La Pria, Le Lore, Marchetto, Mattiello, Pegoraro, Piovene Porto Godi, Puntozero, Sordato, Tenuta Natalina Grandi, Tenuta Tarcisio Maule, Vignato Virgilio, and Vitevis. The tasting experience will be accompanied by musical entertainment provided by students of the Conservatory.

Edition after edition, Gustus confirms its charitable purpose: part of the proceeds from the event will in fact be donated to the restoration of The Crucifixion , a fresco by the Vicenza painter Giovanni Vajenti Speranza kept in the “Arrigo Pedrollo” Conservatory.
