Collavini continues its partnership with Moschino: Il Grigio Spumante in the best international boutiques

n December, many events open to the public in London, Rome, New York, Milan and Paris to present the new collection of the fashion house.

Collavini , a historic Friulian company, renews its collaboration with the Moschino brand and in the Christmas month toasts in the major fashion capitals with Il Grigio , the first Friulian sparkling wine made from Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay grapes, created more than 50 years ago. The company from Corno di Rosazzo (Udine) will participate in the presentation events of the new collection of the famous fashion house, which will begin on Thursday 5 December in Paris and London , then on Saturday 7 in Rome , on Friday 13 overseas in the New York boutique, and finally in Milan on Saturday 14.

“We are happy to have collaborated for years with an authoritative and iconic brand like Moschino – says Luigi Collavini , owner of the company together with his brother Giovanni and his father Manlio –. Grigio represents our history and passion, enclosing the essence of the territory in every glass. It is exciting to see how this sparkling wine, born more than fifty years ago, continues to be appreciated all over the world”.

The history of Il Grigio begins with its debut at Vinitaly in 1973, becoming a faithful companion for toasts at the most exclusive parties in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1985, in fact, it accompanied the trip to Italy of Prince Charles and Princess Diana , as evidenced by a letter of thanks sent by Buckingham Palace to Manlio Collavini for the gift to the Princes of Wales.

Loved by celebrities such as Renato Pozzetto, Cochi Ponzoni, Teo Teocoli, Enzo Jannacci, Steno and Guido Nicheli, Il Grigio immediately achieved success in the most exclusive clubs and bars in Milan. Collavini’s sparkling wine was also an ingredient for years in the famous Bellini at Harry’s Bar in Venice, an iconic location for the international jet set, and a toast of good luck for Alitalia and Air Canada passengers.

Even today it is confirmed as the ideal bubble to celebrate special moments: the label, redesigned in 2023 for fifty years of success, reflects Manlio Collavini’s passion for a style inspired by Liberty and Art Nouveau . The design, taken from an image discovered in an ancient book and inspired by the work of Aubrey Beardsley, an English illustrator contemporary of Oscar Wilde, was adapted for the Il Grigio label: the small silver spirals recall the harmony of the vine’s cirrus clouds.

Bright straw yellow in color with greenish veins, Il Grigio presents itself to the nose as fragrant and fresh, with notes of golden apple, pear and bread crust. The rounded flavor is harmonious and persistent. It lends itself to being served as an aperitif or to accompany vegetarian first courses and baked fish.
