“SUNSET LIVE MUSIC”, AT TENUTA DI CASTELLARO SUNSET CONCERTS BETWEEN THE VINEYARD AND THE SEA

In the heart of the “Anfiteatro” vineyard, a natural stage on the islands of Alicudi, Filicudi and Salina, live music blends with the colors of the sunset: from the contemporary Sicilian singer-songwriter Brando Madonia, to the cinematic evocations of Lina Gervasi, passing through the elegance of Domenico Quaceci, the acoustic charm of Luca Madonia and the neoclassical melodies of Galactica.

When the sun begins to set and the air smells of vineyards and saltiness, the light slowly settles on the rows of Tenuta di Castellaro , dyeing the islands of Alicudi, Filicudi and Salina gold. It is here, and precisely in the “Anfiteatro” vineyard , nestled on the cliff like a natural stage suspended between sky and sea, that the magic of Sunset Live Music comes to life.

From July 17th to September 11th , every Thursday evening , live music and the wind between the rows will accompany spectators in an intimate and unrepeatable experience.

Massimo Lentsch , who founded the winery in 2005, tells us its deepest meaning: “ We imagined this place as a meeting point between landscape and music. Our Anfiteatro vineyard is not just a cultivated land, but a natural arena that welcomes emotions. Here, where the view is lost in the sea and the energy of the earth can be felt between the rows, music finds a pure, authentic space. Sunset Live Music is our way of celebrating the harmony between man and nature”.

In a breathtaking setting – underlines Sergio Zinna , artistic director of the event – where the gaze embraces the islands of Alicudi, Filicudi and Salina and the sunset colors everything with wonder, a series of concerts designed to blend in with the landscape comes to life: nine composers and musicians between neo-singer-songwriters, neoclassical music and contaminated jazz” .

The program opens on Thursday 17 July at 8.22 pm with Brando Madonia , who will bring the atmospheres of his debut album “Le Conseguenze della Notte”, a finalist for the 2023 Tenco Prize, to the vineyards. This will be followed on 24 July at 8.17 pm by Lina Gervasi , master of the theremin , the first synthesizer in history and an instrument that is played without any direct physical contact and without any visual reference to it, with “Beyond the Mirror”, a sound journey between echoes of cinema and vibrations of the soul.

On July 31st at 8:11 pm, Domenico Quaceci will explore the narrative potential of the piano with “Unspoken Connection”, between minimalism and romanticism. Thursday, August 7th at 8:04 pm it will be the turn of Luca Madonia , who will tell “La Mia Storia”, 40 years of Italian music in an acoustic key, from Denovo to Franco Battiato.

On August 14th at 7:56 pm, the concert of Galactica – that is Isabella Libra, pianist and composer and Giovanni Caruso, percussionist, both teachers at the V. Bellini Conservatory of Catania – offers a sensory journey through the sounds of the universe, intertwining neoclassical melodies with experimental improvisations.

On August 21st at 7:46 p.m., the Rosario Di Leo Trio will offer with “Homotempus” a mix of jazz and neoclassical suggestions, between piano, double bass and cello. On August 28th at 7:36 p.m., Luca Di Stefano , young revelation of America’s Got Talent, will thrill with “19”, a voice and guitar performance with a soulful heart. On September 4th at 7:26 p.m., Damiano Davide and Cecilia Costanzo will propose “Musica dal Silenzio”, a rarefied dialogue between piano and cello, which begins and dissolves in silence.

The festival closes on September 11th at 7.15pm with the Bloom Trio , which mixes American jazz, soul and electronic music in a refined and elegant formula.

The shows begin one hour before sunset . Tickets can be purchased online at visit.tenutadicastellaro.it. The public can enjoy a complete experience by also booking dinner at Castellaro Bistrot , to discover the menu of chef Giacomo Caravello, a tribute to the biodiversity of the Aeolian archipelago. In case of bad weather, the concerts will be held indoors, in the suggestive barrel cellar of the Tenuta. Tenuta di Castellaro : Where the sun sets straight down on the sea and the millenary tradition of sapling cultivation is passed on, Tenuta di Castellaro stands on volcanic soil, a monument dedicated to nature, culture and architecture. The wine project, closely linked to the historical and landscape context, tells the story of a unique territory like that of Lipari, the main of the Aeolian Islands. There are 24 hectares of vineyards for about 70 thousand bottles a year and a modern cutting-edge cellar, as well as a wine resort and the geo-mineral park of the Caolino Caves, cleaned and reclaimed to make it available to the community: Tenuta di Castellaro is a unique and complex reality, which has always lived a natural approach to viticulture, using organic and vegan protocols. The wild charm of this corner of the world, uncontaminated, remote and magnetic has bewitched the Lentsch family from Bergamo, who in 2005 decided to undertake a great winemaking and landscape project: to preserve, enhance and make known the beauty of this place, safeguarding its traditions and peculiarities, giving life to wines made from native island grapes, starting from Malvasia delle Lipari and Corinto Nero, which are pure extract of a territory.
