Over 110 labels for tasting, 45 local wineries, street food, music and a unique view of the city: the Consorzio Tutela Roero brings an extraordinary representation of the denomination to a unique setting for an event dedicated to the discovery of Roero DOCG in one of the most evocative evenings of the year.
The Roero Protection Consortium returns to center stage in Turin: on Wednesday, June 24th, the Roero Wine Fest will take place, an evening exploring the finest expressions of the DOCG, set in one of Turin’s most spectacular locations. 110 labels will be available for tasting, representing 45 local wineries, taking center stage in one of the most anticipated evenings of the year: the Feast of San Giovanni, the city’s patron saint. This annual event draws residents and visitors to an atmosphere of sharing and widespread participation, combining a bond with tradition and a sense of belonging.
A significant context enhanced by an exceptional location: the Roero Wine Fest will be hosted by one of the city’s most iconic sites, the Pista 500 at Lingotto, a symbol of Turin’s industrial history and its constant reinvention. From the test track of the former FIAT factory to a contemporary hub of urban regeneration, it still demonstrates the dialogue between past and future that characterizes this city.
“With the Roero Wine Fest, we want to create new opportunities for wine and the public to meet, using a more contemporary and inclusive language,” emphasizes Massimo Damonte, President of the Consorzio Tutela Roero. “The new generations seek authentic experiences to live and share. That’s why we imagined an event that combines the quality of our appellations with music, conviviality, and socializing, always keeping wine at the center of the story. Roero has a lot to say, and we believe this is the right way to introduce new consumers to its identity and its extraordinary richness. ”
The tasting will unfold across several themed islands, guiding visitors through the discovery of different production styles and interpretations. From the freshness and versatility of Roero Arneis to the elegance of Nebbiolo-based Roero, all the way to the more complex and structured interpretations of the Riservas. Accompanying the wines will be a selection of street food and a musical program that will transform the evening into a true celebration under the stars, a privileged vantage point for admiring the city and, after sunset, the traditional San Giovanni fireworks display that will illuminate the Turin sky.
Roero Wine Fest thus presents itself as a new event dedicated to wine enthusiasts and those who wish to approach the world of Roero in an informal, immersive and contemporary context.
