38% of exhibitors at the tasting tables. 280 wineries, food experiences, and cultural events: from November 22nd to 24th, Piacenza Expo becomes the capital of taste.
Piacenza Expo is preparing to host the 2025 Wine Fair , transforming the pavilions of the fairgrounds into a veritable citadel of wine and flavors from Saturday, November 22nd to Monday, November 24th . A 38% increase over the last edition, 280 wineries will be present, from Italy, Austria, France, Georgia, and Slovenia, with the addition of new countries such as Chile, Spain, and Hungary. For three days, visitors will be able to taste Italian and international wines , meet producers, discover new labels, and participate in a rich program of guided tastings. Among the highlights, on Saturday, November 22nd at 12:00, the masterclass “Wine and the Land: Stories of Care, Custody, and Balance” will debut, led by Luigi Fenoglio , director of Tenuta di Forci (Lucca). Together with six winemakers from Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Piedmont, Sardinia, and Tuscany, he will lead a sensory journey into the world of organic, natural, and biodynamic wines. Alongside this event, five other masterclasses will guide visitors through the diverse facets of the European food and wine scene. The sessions will be led by members of the event’s technical committee— Antonello Maietta , former President of AIS and food and wine journalist; Vito Intini , President of ONAV; Roberto Donadini , President of FISAR; and Giuliano Boni , wine educator and consultant—and by Luigi Caricato , editor of Olio Officina magazine, who will lead the in-depth discussion on olive oil. All masterclasses are by reservation: €15 for the wine masterclasses and €5 for the olive oil tasting. Alongside the wine, a rich food area will offer regional specialties and traditional dishes, recipes featuring truffles, polenta, and mountain produce, as well as DOP cured meats from the Consorzio Salumi Piacentini. Artisanal desserts and other Italian delicacies will also be available. On Saturday, November 22nd, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, in the central arena, there will be a meeting between the Wine Cities of Emilia-Romagna , organized by the National Association of Wine Cities to promote wine-growing areas and present new programmatic initiatives, together with the mayors of the municipalities involved. The cultural festival Filari di Libri has also been confirmed, with daily meetings at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM entitled If your cellar were a book, which one would it be? . The first day will end at 5:00 PM with the presentation of Camera con vigna written by the journalist and food and wine author Vincenzo D’Antonio and with a preface by Roberta Garibaldi. On Sunday at 5:30 pm, journalist and communicator Robert Gionelli will present his book “A Territory of…Wine. A Guide to the Cellars of the Piacenza Hills ,” which explores—with geographical criteria—the local companies, stories, and products. The complete program and ticket purchase details—with cumulative options and discounts for AIS, ONAV, FISAR, ASSOSOMMELIER, and ASSOENOLOGI members—are available on the event’s official website and at the on-site ticket office.
