THE REDS OF THE EUGANEI HILLS ON STAGE IN MILAN

Appointment on October 20th and November 25th in the Lombard capital to discover the Reds of the Euganean Hills, valuable expressions of the winemaking history of the Veneto region.

The historic red wines of the Euganean Hills , children of the Bordeaux grapes grown in this strip of land in the Veneto region since the first half of the 19th century, have chosen Milan to present themselves to industry professionals in a workshop spread over two dates: the first event, on October 20 , is at the Hotel Meliá Milano (from 11:00 to 20:30), in collaboration with FISAR as part of Fermento Milano , the second, in the afternoon of November 25 , is at The Westin Palace Hotel , in collaboration with AIS Lombardia . In both cases, tasting stands will be set up where the Euganean producers will present their wines to visitors. On the first date, the president of the Consortium for the Protection of the Wines of the Euganean Hills, Gianluca Carraro , will illustrate the characteristics of the territory of origin to the public. In the second meeting, the role of “host” will be delegated to the journalist and sommelier Andrea Gori , while the journalist Sissi Baratella will reveal the unique characteristics of the wine-growing area via live video from the volcanic hills of the production area, allowing visitors a “full immersion” among the vineyards and woods of the Euganean Hills Regional Park.

President Gianluca Carraro explains the reason for choosing Milan: << A positioning survey that we commissioned from a leading research company has shown that, in Italy, it is above all in Milan that knowledge of our territory is concentrated as an area of origin suited to the production of red wines made from Bordeaux grapes. In fact, we feel at home in the Lombard capital, and therefore presenting our wines there represents an extraordinary opportunity to make the excellence of the Euganean Hills even better known. It is the chance to show the uniqueness of our production made of fine wines, born in a landscape, historical and artistic context of rare beauty and rich in biodiversity .>>

The Rossi dei Colli Euganei are produced with grapes of Bordeaux origin (cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and carmenere), rooted in the area for two centuries. Their cultivation embodies the harmony between human knowledge, varietal expression and the uniqueness of an extraordinary territory, recently recognized as a MAB Unesco Biosphere Reserve . The wines are distinguished by their characteristic ruby red color, offering a complex and fascinating organoleptic profile. Intense and robust , but at the same time fresh and savoury , the Rossi dei Colli Euganei embody balance and modernity: their bouquet ranges from hints of red fruits and cherry to notes of ripe fruit, spices, aromatic herbs, tobacco and toasting.

Currently, the production of Rossi dei Colli Euganei is 1.3 million bottles , but it has a significant potential for development , thanks to the 890 hectares of red grapes available. Their ability to combine structure and pleasantness makes them ideal to satisfy the needs of a wide spectrum of consumers. The two-day event in Milan will be the ideal opportunity to discover and appreciate this authentic expression of the Euganean Hills.
