Dinners at Poggio: A celebration of contrasts in the third summer event.

The Poggio della Dogana (Castrocaro Terme) festival will conclude on Friday, July 18th with a food and wine journey of unusual pairings created by chef Mattia Borroni..

The third event in the summer series Cene al Poggio , which combines signature cuisine with Poggio della Dogana wines, is scheduled for Friday, July 18th at 8:00 PM in the charming company headquarters in the hills of Castrocaro Terme (FC). After the opening event, which focused on the meeting of Asia and Romagna, and the second event dedicated to olive oil, the trio of tastings will be completed with a food and wine journey entitled Contrasts . The proposed menu will celebrate the beauty that arises from unexpected and unusual encounters , within the plates and in the glasses. Flavor and sweetness, verticality and roundness, delicacy and pronounced aroma: chef Mattia Borroni of the Alexander Restaurant in Ravenna will enhance the individual ingredients and flavors of the courses as well as the character of each wine. “The 2025 edition of Cene al Poggio was a success,” comments Aldo Rametta , co-owner of Poggio della Dogana with his brother Paolo. “The enthusiastic response from the public confirms how conviviality and discussion are enriching and valuable dynamics for understanding and experiencing our wines and our heritage.” Guests will be welcomed with a sunset aperitif among the vines, featuring Vindice Metodo Classico Pas Dosé Millesimato paired with finger foods such as Mora Romagnola skewers, rosemary and crispy onion, creamed cod, fruit and vegetable dip , and gratin scallops with ginger and lemon . The seated dinner will begin with raw prawns, green gazpacho, cucumber, feta, olives, and dill , followed by warm spaghetti with herb pesto, mussels, and helichrysum , both enhanced by the aromas of Sottovento Rubicone IGT Sauvignon Blanc from Ronchi di Castelluccio , a historic Modigliana winery also owned by the Rametta brothers. Santa Reparata Romagna Sangiovese Castrocaro DOC from Poggio della Dogana will be served alongside grilled guinea fowl, peanuts, chard, lard, and lemon . The food and wine journey will conclude with a carrot, orange, coconut, and mango dessert paired with a glass of Dulcinea made from overripe Albana grapes. The atmosphere will be enhanced by the setting by Timida , a Ravenna-based concept store specializing in clothing, accessories, and furnishings, which will lend a contemporary and sophisticated touch to the table setting .
