Teroldego meets Syrah: the fourth edition blends taste, culture, and conviviality.

On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October 2025, the program will be enriched with wine talks, thematic insights, and collateral events.

Incontri Rotaliani is growing and renewing itself: the wine and cultural event organized by the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg Tourist Consortium , with the patronage of the Municipalities of Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona, and San Michele all’Adige (Trento), returns on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th, 2025, with a program that combines tastings, insights, and moments of conviviality . The 2025 edition will feature the native Teroldego Rotaliano , Syrah from the regions of Cortona (Arezzo), and and Côte Rôtie in the Rhone Valley.

On Saturday, October 25th , at 10:00 a.m., the Teatro San Pietro in Mezzolombardo hosts the wine talk “ Wine and Landscape: Stories of Vines, Roots, and Authentic Territories – Conversations between Piana Rotaliana, Cortona, Etna, and Burgundy ,” moderated by Luciano Ferraro , editor-in-chief of Corriere della Sera . This open discussion between producers, experts, and institutional figures intertwines stories of grape varieties, territorial identities, and new perspectives for collaboration. Admission is free and open to all. In the afternoon, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Cantina Martinelli hosts a walk-around tasting, featuring over 40 wines and spirits, including Teroldego Rotaliano and Syrah from the guest regions, accompanied by samples of local food products and grappa-based cocktails. The day concludes at 8:00 pm at Cantina Rotari with the dinner “Incontri di gusto: tre territori nel piatto” (Incontri di gusto: three territories on the plate) , a culinary journey that unites Trentino, Tuscany, and France in a new and surprising menu, enhanced in each course by music and pairings with different wines.

Sunday, October 26th, is entirely dedicated to wine labs , including guided tastings and themed discussions. The first event is at 10:00 a.m. at Cantina Rotaliana with “Territorial Hunt: Blind Tasting of Syrah and Teroldego ,” an experience led by wine educator and sommelier Adua Villa , who invites participants to recognize and compare different terroirs and wines. This will be followed at 11:15 a.m. at Azienda Agricola Foradori with “Common Roots, Different Expressions: A Dialogue Between Teroldego and Syrah,” with Professor Attilio Scienza , exploring the grape varieties’ genetic similarities and expressive differences, highlighting how the ampelographic context influences the wine. At 12:30 pm, Cantina Dorigati hosts Teroldego Reloaded: young producers share their stories over glasses of wine and food tastings . This workshop is hosted by local producers, led by Roberto Anesi , wine educator and Best Sommelier of Italy 2017, who share their vision for the future of this grape variety. In the afternoon, the journey continues at 2:00 pm with Time Capsule: Teroldego Yesterday and Today , a tasting at the Edmund Mach Foundation Winery led by Divina Vitale , journalist and Gambero Rosso contributor, who compares past and present vintages to capture the evolution of the grape variety over time. At 3:00 pm, the event moves to the Bertagnolli Distillery for The Unexpected Encounter: Grappa, Cheese, and Cigar Tastings , where Francesco Bruno Fadda , curator of the Spirito Autoctono guide, will lead you on a discovery of this pure grappa, highlighting its characteristics through pairings with local cheeses and cigars. The day concludes at 4:15 pm at Cantina Endrizzi with Teroldego & Syrah: a journey through Piana Rotaliana, Cortona, and Côte Rôtie , a discussion led by sommelier and journalist Andrea Gori to showcase two varietals from different yet similar terroirs. Each wine lab has a limited number of participants and costs €25 if purchased in advance by October 15th, or €30 thereafter.

Finally, to experience wine in more intimate, creative and informal contexts, during Sunday it will be possible to participate in various Wine Experience . Among the many activities offered, you can discover, through a guided tour with headphones, the legendary history behind Cantina Donati’s Teroldego Sangue di Drago , savor Albert’s pizza paired with glasses of Teroldego Rosato at the De Vescovi Ulzbach winery, or immerse yourself in the intersection of wine and art at the De Vigili winery. Different experiences that blend conviviality, culture, and flavor, offering different perspectives on experiencing the region.
